Detectra · Research

Bring your
own sensor.

Built to order

The Detectra research crawler is a Detectra with room, power and a data link for a research payload. Your team gets a separate payload computer on board with full access. You write and run your own code on it. The crawler tells it where it is and what it is doing. No code passes back and forth between your group and ours.

What you get

A platform you can build on.

  • A payload bay with mounting space and a power feed
  • A separate payload computer that your team owns and has full access to
  • A wired link from the payload computer to the crawler
  • A position and status feed from the crawler: distance travelled, recording state, site, turbine, blade, chamber and time
  • A payload page on the tablet interface, so the operator sees your sensor's output next to the 360° view
  • Payload recordings tagged with distance and time, alongside the 8K video
  • A starter program and a short how-to
  • A bench test with your sensor before delivery

Who it is for

For groups that need to test a method inside a real blade.

Universities, research institutes, GTS institutes and sensor developers. If you have a sensing method and need to carry it through a blade with a known position, this is the platform.

How we work with research groups

Scoped together, priced per project.

Every research crawler starts with a scoping talk. We agree the payload equipment, the interfaces and the bench test together, and quote the integration per project. Your sensor and its data live on a dedicated single-board computer that you program and modify yourself, so nothing stands between your team and your results.

The rest of the line

Want to see a real inspection?

We can walk you through a recorded blade inspection: the 360° viewer, the findings, the report. Around 20 minutes.
